gate fold

A type of fold where both sides of a document get folded inwards, and the edges come together in the middle.

 

glacine

This material originates from paper and can be used instead of plastic-based films to create the window panel in envelopes.

 

gloss finish

This highly reflective, clear finish is applied to the paper to give extra clarity to images and writing on the page. There is also a semi-gloss for half the shine and matte finish with minimal shine.

gsm

Abbreviation of grams per square metre. It refers to the thickness of paper.

 

HTML

Abbreviation of HyperText Markup Language. HTML is a system that provides 'tags' which hold data on a web pages, this is then interpreted by the internet browser and the web page is formatted on screen for viewing.

 

HTTP

Abbreviation of HyperText Transport Protocol. This is the main protocol used on the web, linking Web servers so that documents can be accessed or exchanged
