  Notes: Items are split into bands according to destination: Europe, Zone 1 and Zone 2. Pricing goes up in increments and varies according to the Destination Zone, from 'postcard' to the maximum weight of 2000g. Price also depends on whether stamps or franking are used and whether the item is a letter, a small packet or printed papers (eg newspapers, leaflets). Delivery to European destinations is within three days and worldwide within 5 days.
Surface Mail 1 2000g* 2-12 weeks after posting -
  Notes: Mail can be sent as Surface Letters, Surface Printed Papers or Surface Small Packets. Delivery times vary according to destination: Western Europe - upto 2 weeks after posting, Eastern Europe - upto 5 weeks, North America - upto 6 weeks, South America, Africa and Asia - up to 8 weeks, Australasia - up to 12 weeks. *The maximum weight is 2000g for letters and small packets, but there is a maximum weight of 5000g for books or pamphlets.

  Notes: Service to 27 destinations worldwide with confirmation of delivery. Items receive priority handling at home and overseas, there is an online tracking facility so progress can be checked (NB outside the UK, tracking and confirmation of delivery cannot always be guaranteed). An standard fee of ?4.20 is charged, which is added to the Airmail or Surface Mail prices for the item.

  Notes: This system has online tracking until the item leaves the UK, so progress can be checked. Items leave the UK on the next available flight and are then sent by the regular registered system of the destination country. International Signed For can also be used in conjunction with Airmail and Surface Mail services. The ?3.50 charge is added to the Airmail or Surface Mail price.
International No Sort 1 - Priority 3.7% - 4.0%
  Notes: With Priority delivery, items should reach Europe within 5 working days and Rest of the World within 7 working days, prices vary slightly according to destination and are charged according to a fee per item together with a price per kilo. The discounts mentioned are additional volume discounts for 50,000+ items and 100,000+ items.
International Format Sort 1 2000g Priority or economy 3.7% - 4.0%
  Notes: This service is only offered to destinations in Western Europe. Post is sorted according to whether it is a letter, flat or packet. Pricing for International Format Sort depends on whether the priority or economy delivery options are chosen. There is a Base Rate charging system. Discounts are offered if the items are mechable (can be read by the Royal Mail machines) or if the Cleanmail Option is chosen (machine readable, with additional criteria). An additional volume discount is also offered for 50,000+ and 100,000+ letters, 4,000+ and 10,000+ flats, and 1,000+ and 2,000+ packets.
International Zone Sort 1 2000g Priority or economy 3.7% - 4.0%
  Notes: Mail is sorted according to destination (items to Europe or the Rest of the World) prior to being received by Royal Mail. Priority and economy delivery options are available and the pricing structure follows that of International Format Sort, with a base rate and then Mechable and Cleanmail options which offer the opportunity for further discount. There are also additional volume discounts offered for 50,000+ and 100,000+ items.

  Notes: Mail needs to be presorted according to destination and according to whether the mailing consists of letters, flats or packets. Mail needs to have a PPI and be sorted, bagged and labelled before it is handled by the Post Office. Delivery choices include Priority, Standard and Economy. Delivery times depend on destination with priority being the quickest. Standard delivery takes 10-21 days according to destination and with economy, choices range from 5-10 days for Europe to 8-12 weeks for the Far East and Australasia. Minimum spend applies: ?2500 per year A Destination Sort Mailing must weigh at least 3kg and items can weigh between 2-5kg.
International Bulk Mail 4000 2000g Priority, standard or economy -
  Notes: Minimum mailing is 4000 letters or 1000 packets or flats, unless the items form part of a walksort or mailsort mailing, in these cases there is no minimum number. Items must be machineable and follow the set letter or packet specification. The delivery criteria is that all items must be sent at the same delivery speed (priority - mail leaves on the next available flight and is delivered at the equivalent of 1st class, standard - Mail travels by air when there is capacity and is delivered at the equivalent of 2nd class, economy - mail travels by land and sea and is treated as 2nd class in the destination country. (NB: Standard delivery service will be withdrawn from August 2007)
