Myth: “Paper is bad for the environment” Paper is one of the most readily recyclable and actually recycled products in the world. Natural and renewable, paper works on a circular economy model. Make, Use, Recycle, Reuse. Paper production means the plantation of healthy growing forests, adding a significant source for climate and biodiversity protection. Fact: “Sustainable forest management preserves biodiversity and safeguards forests for future generations” Well-managed sustainable forests give multiple benefits to society, such as livelihoods, ecosystem services and biodiversity, whilst absorbing CO2 and providing carbon storage, helping to tackle climate change. Question “How can I know that I am buying sustainably sourced paper from specifically grown, responsibly managed paper forests?” You can easily ensure that your paper is sustainable by only buying print from suppliers that work with paper from regulated stewardship. Paper should be FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) sourced and certified.
